A Rogue Valley man and his wife got the chance of a lifetime to travel to the White House to help deck the President's halls.
In November, Eric and Lynne Dittmer spent five days hard at work, hanging decorations and garland. They were chosen, along with roughly 70 other people from across the country volunteering to help decorate the White House for the holidays.
While they did have to pay for their own airfare and lodging, he and his wife consider it a once in a lifetime opportunity. To top it all off, Lynne Dittmer also got to meet the first lady.
The couple said they received help from Senator Merkley's office on when and how to apply for the opportunity.
