Hundreds of homes and businesses are destroyed after several tornados touched down in north Texas Tuesday afternoon.
The National Weather Service will be in the area Wednesday surveying the damage, but already estimates more than half of a dozen twisters are responsible for the destruction around the greater Dallas area.
Those in the path barely had time to take cover.
As the storm became calm again the power of mother nature was boldly apparent.
The sheer magnitude of the loss of popery is only matched by a startling sense that things could have been much worse.
At least 17 people injured, some of them in critical condition and more than 150 are in shelters but considering the extensive damage left by this storm, amazingly there have been no reported fatalities.
