Regence Bluecross Blueshield of Oregon has announced it's closing its Salem location which will bring 70 positions to join the current 157 here at the Medford office.
Statewide Regence employs more the 2,000 Oregonians and serves more than 750,000 thousand members.
President of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oregon Angela Dowling said "we have a state of the art facility here in Medford and it makes sense that we consolidate those facilities so we can be great cost stewards to our members."
The positions are being offered first to the 70 employees in Salem to relocate. Regence expects not all will choose to move and there will be some new job openings to be filled locally.
Mark Ganz, President and CEO of Cambia Health Solutions said "we recognize for family reasons and like, some may not come which will create a great opportunity for people that already live here in the valley."
