Cartersville, Ga. --- (WXIA)  A Georgia teen drowned in a bizarre incident early Sunday morning, just hours after his high school graduation.

Witnesses say 18 year-old Chance Werner of Cartersville was playing a game with friends during which a person would sit in a shopping cart tied to a pole. Then the cart was forcefully pushed off the dock, causing the person to "pop" out of the cart and into the water.

Werner made the mistake of tying the cart to his waist instead of the pole, and was pulled in.

He did not resurface.
