Local farmers rally against proposed Jackson County GMO-ban

Central Point, Ore. -- Dozens of family farmers who support using genetically modified crops gathered in Central Point Friday morning to show their opposition to measure 15-119.

Local farmer Jim Frink says he's been using GMO crops since the 1990's.

Frinks says GMOs seeds have doubled his crop production and it's farmers like him that help feed America "American farmers are expected to feed not just the United States but also citizens from all around the world. So we gotta have our modified crops."

Oregon Cattlemans District 5 Vice President Lee Bradshaw said he feels it's wrong for someone to tell him what to do "I don't want someone coming on my property telling me what I can grow and what I can't grow."

Supporters of measure 15-119 say that GMO's threaten their livelihood, and can cross pollinate, ruining their organic crops.
