Medford, ORe. -- Months after reaching a tentative agreement Medford teachers are expected to sign their new contract by the end of the week.
Medford Superintendent Dr. Phil long says it's taken a while to produce a final contract "It's really important we get it right. About 80% of our cost is related to personnel and between these two bargaining units, 65-70 million dollars we're talking about. So, we just want to make sure we are clear on language and intent, and we'll move forward."
He says that's because of language in the agreement.
It took the union and the district over a year and a two week teacher strike to come to terms.
Classified employees are expected to finalize their contract by the end of the week as well.
