A bill aimed at bringing affordable higher education options to Oregon students has passed in the house.

House bill 3341 would change the process colleges and universities go through when adding new programs. Currently, community colleges and universities must get permission from for-profit career colleges in the area to prevent overlap of programs.

The bill will now head to the senate for approval.
