Sacramento, DvCalif. --- (NBC News) Signatures for the "Six Californias" will be submitted on Tuesday in Sacramento, according to the proposal's proponents.
Venture capitalist Tim Draper and his supporters say they have collected more than 800,000 valid signatures for his ballot proposal to divide California into six states.
The signatures need to be delivered to the Secretary of State to be put on the November 2016 ballot. Draper has not yet revealed how many signatures he has collected for his measure, which is considered a constitutional amendment.
With California home to 38 million people and the nation's most populated state, Draper said the state has become ungovernable and can no longer meet the needs of its citizens.
