Medford, Ore. -- High school students said they've had enough of the Medford school strike and they are going to do something about it.

The students are organizing a school walk out Thursday morning.

Members of the North and South Medford High School basketball teams held their own press conference Wednesday at Baci's Pizza in Medford.

They want to send a message to the teachers and the districts bargaining teams.

They say that even with their great rivalry they can come together for a common cause and with that students from both schools agreed to organize a walk out "My message here to both sides is not to be so stubborn with each other and kinda more be doing it about the kids at this point" said North Medford High senior Aaron Browne-Moore.

"We have people in positions of authority aren't willing to compromise and work things out right now. So i hope that it can come to an end quickly" said South Medford High Sophomore Jasmin Falls.

Some students say they plan on leaving their classrooms at 8:35am Thursday when the substitutes take attendance.

They are now spreading the word through social media.
