Ashland police increase patrols for July 4th

Ashland, Ore. -- As the holiday weekend approaches, the Ashland Police Department and Ashland Fire and Rescue want to remind community members that fireworks are illegal in the city of Ashland.

During this particularly dangerous fire season, police say they will have additional officers on duty on July 4th to respond to calls of illegal fireworks as quickly as possible.

There will be a fireworks display at 10 p.m. on July 4th over the SOU athletic fields.
