Oregon Sports Awards

From high school to college Southern Oregon is well represented for the Oregon Sports Awards.  Here are some of the names that stood out. We start with the high school golfer of the year category.
Kevin Murphy of rogue river among a short list of 5 finalist...which is big, because most categories have a ton of names.
so the two time southern Oregon golf tournament champion with a good shot to win.  ALlso with a good shot of getting a lot of votes, Tess Picknell.  The South Medford grad who is now playing hoops at Stanford, is up for girls prep basketball player of the year, for her 2012 season , in which she lead the Panthers to an undefeated state title run. Right now Picknell is her freshman campaign with the Cardinal.  Staying with former Panther hoop stars,  EJ Singler is up for college athlete of the year.   He was good last year, but this year he and the Ducks having a great season.  They beat Washington over the weekend and are ranked 10th in the nation by the Associated Press.
