The do's and don'ts of fireworks in Medford

Medford, Ore. -- It's that time of year, firework tents are popping up all around the Rogue Valley. Fireworks officially go on sale Monday, June 23rd.

The Medford Police Department, along with Medford Fire and Rescue, want to remind residents what's legalĀ  -- and illegal -- when it comes to lighting the fuses.

Fireworks are illegal to use during fire season, except from June 23rd to July 6th, and fireworks that explode or fly into the air, (such as bottle rockets and firecrackers), are illegal in the state of Oregon.

Some fireworks that are allowed include sparklers, base fountains and cone fountains.

Officials are urging people to take caution not only because fireworks are potential fire hazards, but because it's been a very dry year in our area.
