Colusa, Calif. -- (KNVN) A Colusa, California couple was arrested Friday for allegedly kidnapping a 13-year-old boy and forcing him to apologize for making their child cry.
Police say Jose Alfred Molina, 56, and Rebecca Carranza-Molina, 44, abducted the boy after the 13-year-old and the couple's child were playing together on a sandbar near of the Sacramento River and the 13-year-old inadvertently made their child cry.
Carranza-Molina attacked the boy and took his bicycle, then went home to get her husband. They found the 13-year-old walking on Eighth Street near Main Street and grabbed him, forcing him into their van.
They then allegedly drove the boy to their house and forced him to apologize to their child for making him cry. A witness has called police, and officers arrived at the home just as the child was apologizing.
Molina and Carranza-Molina were charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment and child cruelty and booked into the Colusa County Jail where they are being held on $100,000 bail.
