NBC5 News 11pm anchor Art Barron began his career over 30 years ago at KOBI-TV/NBC5 as one of the country's youngest on-air anchors at 20 years old.
"I've come full circle, returning to Southern Oregon for its quality of life. I missed NBC5. My experience here opened so many doors for me."
Among the stories Art covered during his first tenure at NBC5 was the return of Iranian hostage Victor Tomseth to Eugene and the eruption of Mount St. Helens.
Before returning to NBC5, Art reported, anchored and produced in Minneapolis, Albuquerque, Miami and Los Angeles.
While in Los Angeles, Art produced an award winning documentary, Saving a Sacred Rancho in the Canyon. It won Best Documentary at the Santa Monica Film Festival in 2013.
Art has three grown children, who plan to join him in Southern Oregon.
