Winston, Ore. — For this week’s Tank of Gas Getaway, we decided to take a trip on the wild side.
A quick drive up I-5 from the Rogue Valley, Wildlife Safari in Winston is as close as you can get to nature’s most amazing creatures.
The drive-thru the animal park has changed a lot in the last few years, including even more animals from all over the globe.
Wildlife Safari is a 600 acre park featuring 550 animals from 90 different species including elephants.
And don’t forget the park’s animal ambassadors. They’re helping spread the word about conservation in schools and at the park itself — one of the safari’s main goals since its creation in the 70’s.
Park officials said they not only make sure our animals are experiencing a full life and interacting well with the public, but also helping their cousins out in the wild while also giving families a one-of-a-kind experience that will last a lifetime.
