United in Kindness: 70th Anniversary Celebration

This year KOBI-TV/NBC5 is celebrating our 70th anniversary.  In 1953, William B. Smullin signed KOBI-TV/NBC5 on the air. It was the first VHF TV station in Oregon, and it remains one of the very few TV stations in the country that is still locally owned and operated.

To celebrate this anniversary year, KOBI-TV/NBC5 has partnered with the United Way of Jackson County to share stories of kindness, civility, generosity, and charity. We call this campaign “United in Kindness” and throughout the year we will be featuring stories on kindness from our partners in the community. Each of these stories will also be available on KOBI5.com as they are created: https://kobi5.com/category/features/united-in-kindness/ Please join us during our 70th year of broadcasting by acting in kindness and sharing your story with us. We will share some of these stories on the air and on social media, too. Here’s where you can share your story: https://kobi5.com/share-a-story-of-kindness/
