Soccer camp for kids benefits Children’s Advocacy Center

SOCCER BENEFIT PICMedford, Ore. —  A youth soccer day camp organized by a high school student brought out nearly 50 kids on Saturday. The free camp was designed for children six to nine years old.

While there wasn’t a registration fee, donations were taken to benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center.

St. Mary’s freshman Milan Bobek said he organized the event as a school project.

“It was a St. Mary’s religion project, I had to choose something, or match one of my interests with a need in the community,” Bobek said. “I thought I would get a couple kids, and we got a lot more.”

All of the kids took home a soccer ball at the end of the day. Bobek said he plans on continuing the event through his high school years.
