Access running low on supplies

Medford, Ore. — Access food pantry is running on less than half of their needed supplies and they are asking for the community’s help to bring in more donations before the end of the year.

Access officials say the holiday food drives are mainly what fund their entire year’s operations, but this year they didn’t even meet half of their set goal.

They are hoping the last few days of this year can bring them an added push of donations.

“These holiday food drives are what we rely on all year long, so when the numbers come up short we have to refigure out what we will do for the rest of the year. There are other food drives but these are very important times for us,” said Nutrition Programs Coordinator Alec Schwimmer.

Cash donations are the easiest way to give. For every dollar donated to access they can provide four meals. You can donate at accesshelps.org. You can also donate canned goods at the Greystone court food bins through Wednesday and the grocery bag drive ends this Thursday.
