Accused bank robber in court

Medford, Ore. — The man accused of robbing a Phoenix bank on Thursday made his first appearance in a Jackson County courtroom. Daniel Pelleschi was not arraigned on charges related to the bank robbery, because the documents were en route to the courtroom during the proceeding.

Phoenix police say Pelleschi is being charged with burglary, theft, and coercion. He was arrested on warrants just 45 minutes after the bank robbery, when a resident at a nearby trailer park saw him running into a mobile home, and called police. Police say they found cash and a handgun, and after investigating, connected him to the crime.

Pelleschi is also facing additional charges of trespass, robbery, and tampering with a witness and evidence, after police say he broke into a family member’s trailer. According to authorities, he’s already been trespassed from that location.

Pelleschi is in the Jackson County Jail on $177,000 bail.
