Atlanta, Ga. (WXIA) — As the LGBT community in Atlanta, Georgia continues to mourn the lives lost in the Orlando massacre, a group called the Pink Pistols is taking steps to make sure people know how to protect themselves.
The group, which is an international organization, is focused on self-defense in the LGBT community, including the use of firearms when necessary.
The Pink Pistols are as diverse as the community they serve, and are made up of concerned citizens of all sexual orientations.
“So, I’m a Libertarian – we’re all about freedom,” said member Chris Willis. “We want freedom for everyone and so seeing a group like the Pink Pistols, it embodies that Libertarian idea more than anything.”
The group has seen a huge spike in membership on their Facebook page since the Orlando shooting.
