Salem, Ore. — Recent fire seasons have the Oregon Department of Forestry stretched thin.
That’s according to a new audit by the Oregon Secretary of State’s office.
The report says ODF has been forced to spend more time fighting fires and less time on other programs.
It also says ODF workers are spending too many hours away from home.
The report calls on ODF to make changes to reduce the impact on workers.
