Bank robbery spree suspects identified

Update (03/31/17 3:35 p.m.) — Police said John Steven Shepard and Kimberly Ann Blank are no longer driving the green Subaru.

Ashland Police said they’re possibly traveling in a red 1993 Chevy extended cab pickup truck with a lift kit installed and large tires, Oregon plate D003270.

Medford, Ore. – Police are searching for suspects wanted in connection with a bank robbery spree in southern Oregon.

On March 20, Medford Police investigated a robbery at Bank of the Cascades on Crater Lake Highway.

Officers noticed similarities with that robbery and other bank robberies in southern Oregon and began to work closely with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Following the investigation, police identified two suspects, John Steven Shepard and Kimberly Ann Blank.

After a similar robbery at Umpqua Bank on Walker Avenue in Ashland, police said they executed a search warrant on the suspects’ residence in the 7600 block of Highway 227 in Trail.

An additional warrant was served on the suspects’ vehicle that had been seized after a traffic stop by Eagle Point Police.

MPD said they obtained evidence linking the suspects to the bank robbery spree.

On Friday, police obtained felony warrants for the arrest of Shepard and Blank, but they have not yet been located and their whereabouts are unknown, according to officers.

Police said the couple is “well aware law enforcement is looking for them and may try to evade capture.”

Shepard is described as 37-year-old, 6’0” and weighing 195 pounds.

Police said Blank is 37-years-old, 5’1” and weighs 145 pounds. The tips of her hair may be dyed pink.

The couple may be driving a green 2002 Subaru Legacy with damage to the front left quarter panel, Oregon plate 250 FYW.
