Blind George’s GoFundMe money up in the air

Grants Pass, Ore., — Blind George’s in Grants Pass is officially staying in its location on “G” Street after an anoymous buyer stepped in to buy the building.

But now there’s almost 4-thousand dollars in a Go Fund Me account with no place to go.

The original purpose of the account was to help the owners of Blind George’s, Jack and Brenda Smith, buy the building – or help them land on their feet should the business close.

Now neither of those are needed, and where the money will go is up in the air.

Julie Tyrrell started the Go Fund Me account and wants to let the community decide where their money goes.

“Either people can say awesome, go ahead and put it where you say you’re gonna put it. Or they can say you know that’s not what I wanted to donate to, and I believe they will have their money refunded.” says Tyrrell.

The Smith’s say they want the money to go to the new owner of the building.
