DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. – A Bandon man’s body was recovered from Toketee Falls Monday. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says on Sunday dispatchers were called in when a man reportedly fell into the falls around 6:30 in the evening.
Toketee Falls is located along the North Umpqua River. According to the U.S. Forest Service the upper descent falls 40 feet, the lower one drops 80 feet. Search and Rescue crews from Douglas County Fire District #2 spent Sunday and Monday searching for him.
The man’s body has been identified as Brian Paul Nelson, from Bandon. He was 59 years old. His family has been notified.
