Bull riding champions take over the Rogue Valley

Central Point, Ore — Bull-riding season is winding to a close in Southern Oregon and the Challenge of Champions is making it’s final stop right here in the Rogue Valley.

Those who attend can see 45 different champion caliber bulls this weekend if you make your way to the Jackson County Expo for the last leg of the Challenge of Champions tour.

Gates open at 5:30pm Saturday and the show starts at 7pm.

Along with the bulls will be some of the nation’s best bull riders.

Tomorrow marks the final competition on the tour and organizers say it’s make or break for their athletes.

“We have the top 30 on our finals and they’ll be competing and the 8 little junior riders and they’ll be competing with their heroes, they ride bulls just like the big guys,” said Jason Mattox.

The winner of tomorrow night’s competition will have the chance to go home with a brand new Mahindra tractor courtesy of Rogue Valley Farm Equipment, but first they have to ride Double Duece, the CCT bull of the year.
