California man takes police on pursuit crossing state lines

motorcylce pusuitCentral Point, Ore.– A California man on a motorcycle gave police a wild chase into Oregon with speeds reaching 100 MPH.

Only NBC 5 was in Central Point the moment Oregon State Police cuffed him and took the man into custody video of suspect OSP said the California Highway Patrol began chasing the motorcyclist 20 miles south of Yreka. It ended at the Shell gas station off Table Rock Road and Vilas.

OSP said the suspect was caught stealing gas from a motor home that was filling up and an employee at the gas station saw the moment police approached the suspect.

Tyler Hewitt said,”put your hands up and the guy was trying to hide between the pump then it go crazy I saw like 10 cop cars rolled up all at once and and then yeah they got him.”

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Central Point Police helped out. At one point police called off the chase to ensure the public’s safety.

The suspect is facing felony elude and reckless driving charge
