Coalinga, Calif. (KSEE) — California’s “Mineral Fire” has scorched thousands of acres this week, bringing in at least 200 additional crews from around the state.
Officials say 12 homes are threatened, possibly more as the fire moves north.
“We’re utilizing the fire engines with water, we’re utilizing the hand crews that have hand tools, and then, we have the bulldozers that also assist with that,” Cal Fire’s Brandon Vaccaro said.
Resident Pete Martin has had to evacuate multiple times this week, and he says he trusts in the firefighters as they have tackled recent fires in the area well.
