Car catches fire on Bear Creek Greenway

Central Point, Ore. — A warning tonight from fire crews — after a car caught on fire this morning off the Bear Creek Greenway.

Fire District Three says the owner of the car left the engine running behind the Expo, causing the grass underneath to heat up and catch on fire.

This photo from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office shows how the flames eventually spread to the car.

Nobody was injured, but the sheriff’s office wants to make it clear that cars are not allowed on the greenway path.
