Challenging the community to protect children

Medford, Ore — April is child abuse prevention month and child advocates are kicking it off with an event aimed at protecting kids tonight.

Hundreds gathered at Alba Park in Medford to have some family fun while also learning about the difficult topic of child abuse.

Awards were given to three community members who went above and beyond to protect kids and a challenge was made to everyone else to do the same.

“If people take 3 hours of their time to see this training they could make a huge difference in the life of children in this county,” said DHS Child Welfare Program Director Kirsten Arreguin.
