Child sexual predator sentenced to 25 years in prison

Portland, Ore. — A man who was found to have repeatedly sexually abused two children was sentenced to 25 years in prison for transporting a minor across state lines with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 41-year-old Kilunnun Adyden Chivoski was sentenced in a Portland courtroom Thursday. In addition to 25 years in prison, Chivoski will be subject to a lifetime of supervised release and sex offender registration.

Chivoski’s trial revealed he had abused the children during an extended, cross-country road trip that ended in Oregon in August 2010.

The DOJ wrote in part, “Evidence presented during the ten-day trial showed Chivoski engaged in the repeated, systematic sexual abuse of two children that he had taken steps to isolate and indoctrinate over a yearlong period.”

“This sentence will protect children in Oregon and elsewhere from a sexual predator whose egregious crimes will have a lifelong impact on his victims,” said Billy J. Williams, United States Attorney for the District of Oregon. “I am grateful for the dedication and collaboration of our federal, state, and local partners who diligently followed the evidence in this case as part of their continuing effort to protect children in our district. I am also grateful for the amazing bravery that Chivoski’s victims showed,” said U.S. Attorney Williams, “in coming forward to seek justice. Thanks to their courage, our community is safer and a dangerous criminal is behind bars.”
