Grants Pass, Ore., — Josephine County Commissioner Keith Heck is under fire tonight, after a complaint is filed with the Secretary of State’s office against him.
The complaint alleges Commissioner Heck didn’t report two donations to his re-election campaign.
Jim Rafferty is a leader of the “We’re For a Constitutional Government” political action committee. Part of what they do is follow candidates and educate voters.
That’s why he says when he noticed Commissioner Keith Heck hadn’t filed a report for $3,500 dollars of donations from “Coalition For a Healthy Oregon” to his campaign, he says he had to do something about it.
“Being a citizen and being a little bit in to politics myself, we all need to be playing on a fair playing field, an even playing field.” said Rafferty.
Rafferty, who’s running for Josephine County Clerk, filed the complaint with the Secretary of State’s office.
This week they mailed a letter to Commissioner Heck, who is seeking his third term in office, to give him a chance to respond.
Commissioner Heck told us over the phone this afternoon mistakes can happen but he isn’t yet aware of the complaint.
