Salem, Ore. — You may soon be able to buy hard liquor in Oregon grocery stores after a decision Thursday by Oregon’s Supreme Court.
The court cleared the way for a potential ballot measure this November to privatize liquor sales in Oregon.
Currently only state-chartered stores can sell hard liquor in Oregon.
But if petitioners get 88,000+ signatures by July, it will appear as Initiative 71 on the November ballot.
Oregon became the only west coast state to have a government run liquor program after Washington passed a similar bill in 2011.
