Talent, Ore. — Oregon State Police and Fire District 5 responded just after 9:00 Wednesday morning to a vehicle that veered across southbound lanes onto the shoulder, eventually crashing into a ditch covered with thick brush and trees.
OSP said the middle-aged male driver and a puppy were the only ones in the car. The driver was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Fire District 5 said the puppy may have suffered a broken leg and was taken to Best Friends Animal Hospital in Talent — but not before taking a photos with the responding firefighters.
OSP says the accident may have been caused by fatigue and/or marijuana use.
