Medford, Ore.– A dead body found at a popular Medford park sparks a police investigation, but at this time police don’t believe foul play was involved.

According to MPD, around 6:30 Wednesday morning, a park employee found the body of a white man in believed to be in his 30’s at the US Cellular Community park in South Medford.

Police say the man, who lived in a nearby apartment complex, was lightly clothed and not wearing socks or shoes.  It took about three hours to identify the body. The man’s name will be made public after his next of kin have been notified.

“When the wife came out,” says Medford Police Lieutenant Mike Budreau, “she had been at work all night working graveyard, she came home and found her husband was gone, we were ultimately able to determine the deceased man was her husband which is very sad for her.”

While the exact cause of death has not yet been determined, again Police don’t think his death was suspicious.  The body will be looked at by the medical examiner.
