Death of Josephine County woman investigated as a criminal case

Grants Pass, Ore. – Oregon State Police say the death of a young Josephine County woman is being investigated as a criminal case. An OSP representative says doing so is standard procedure.

Kayla Yarbrough’s body was found earlier this month in a rural area of O’Brien. Investigators have not revealed the cause or manner of death.

Yarbrough, 20, disappeared around the holidays. She was reported missing by her family to both Josephine County Sheriff’s Office and Medford Police Department.

OSP confirmed to NBC5 News at least one person has been questioned in the case. Again, the representative said the questioning is standard procedure.

NBC5 News will continue to follow this developing story.
