Death penalty will not be pursued for Klamath murder suspect

Zane SkeenKlamath Falls, Ore. — Prosecutors say they will not seek the death penalty against a suspect accused of murdering a Klamath Falls man. 37-year-old Zane Skeen was in court Monday for hearings on whether certain evidence and witnesses will be allowed at trial.

Police say Skeen beat Larry Wayne Clark to death at a home on Lindley Way three years ago. Prosecutors say Skeen conspired with Clark’s former wife Carla to commit the murder, and then split money from Clark’s life insurance policy.

No trial date has been set.
