Democrats face deep divisions

NC_dnc170725_1500x845Philadelphia, Penn. (NBC News) — The scandal surrounding leaked emails stolen from the Democratic National Committee is helping widen the rift between supporters of Senator Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton.

A massive crowd of supporters turned out to hear Sanders speak at midday. Sanders made it clear when he speaks at the convention Monday night, he will not make a new play for the nomination.

“We have got to defeat Donald Trump and we have got to elect Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine,” Sanders told the crowd.

He was met by a chorus of disappointed boos.

The FBI is investigating who hacked the emails revealing party staffers secretly worked against Sanders and helped Hillary Clinton.
