Deputies say someone shooting at vehicles with a pellet rifle in Eagle Point

Eagle Point, Ore. — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help after several reports of a person shooting at vehicles with a high powered pellet rifle.

Captain Tim Snaith said they believe someone is hiding in the bushes or trees near the 700 block of Brownsboro Highway in Eagle Point and shooting pellets at vehicles as they drive by.

Snaith says their main concern is a pellet penetrating a window and either hurting or distracting a driver.

He says the amount of damage to vehicles has varied and there doesn’t seem to be a pattern of when the crime is occurring.
