Discussing “end of life” care in the Rogue Valley

Medford, Ore — As the population ages one local organization is looking to shine a light on “end of life” care.

Speaking to a crowd at the Smullin Health Education Center Thursday evening, renowned palliative care doctor Steven Pantilat brought up the need for better care when someone is facing the end of their life.

The event, sponsored by the organization called ‘Choosing Options, Honoring Options” is designed to get the conversation going among healthcare professionals and those they serve.

“We have lost a great deal of the meaning that comes to patients and families as they near the end of their lives, we’ve neglected the comfort part of caring for people,” said Dr. John Forsyth.

There will be five other discussions this spring for more information visit the COHO website at Coho Rogue Valley.
