Displaced Josephine Co. children provided with bags of essentials

Grants Pass, Ore. – Oregon State Police troopers in Grants Pass took in 20 bags filled with blankets, toys and other essentials that will be given out to kids who are being removed from their homes.

OSP said the bags are part of “Campaign 51”, which was put together by Grants Pass dispatcher Amanda Main.

Troopers said Main started the project after she became a foster parent. She realized that in Josephine County, 1 in every 51 kids are put into foster care at some point.

Main raised nearly $5,000 to put together the bags. They were handed out to OSP and various other Josephine County agencies that are involved with child welfare.

OSP wrote in part, “Thank you Amanda for working hard raising money and awareness for these children through this sometimes difficult time.”
