Medford, Ore. — A benefit this weekend is helping animals at the Southern Oregon Humane Society one paw at a time.
Six years and still going strong, the Janette Krook Memorial Dog Wash and Barbecue is one of the biggest annual fundraisers for the animal shelter.
Shelter leaders say Krook was a huge lover of animals and the benefit lives on in her honor.
“It started out with just a dog wash and we had a barbecue that we threw in and then we have a small silent auction that we do and they’ve actually raised around $3,000 for us,” said Volunteer Support Manager Judi Hanstein
The dog wash and barbecue kicks off Saturday morning with a breakfast at 10:00 a.m. at the Cascade Self Storage, 2562 West Main Street in Medford
