Exit 24 interchange opens

Phoenix, Ore. — The northbound off-ramp on exit 24 in Phoenix is open as of Friday. The completion of the off-ramp is the final touch on the interchange. Signs were added and now traffic is moving through.

The speed limit within the area will be increased to 65 mph.

Construction has been running for the past two years, and now ODOT is happy the project is heading towards the finish line.

“Everyone is excited about it in the sense they’ve endured not only the construction of the interchange but also Highway 99 as well,” Gary Leaming said, Oregon Department of Transportation.

There’s still work to be done, mostly on the west side. They’re working on the Bear Creek connection and final paving on Highway 99.

The contract end date is at the end of September, and ODOT is confident that they will meet that date and fulfill all ramps and signs.
