Josephine County, Ore. — A Cave Junction man is dead after crashing his motorcycle down an embankment Saturday night.
Oregon State Police say around 8:00 Saturday evening, they got a call from a driver reporting a motorcyclist had crashed on Highway 46, near milepost 7. They told troopers the rider was partially down an embankment and not breathing.
Once on scene, emergency crews pronounced the man, 57-year-old Patrick Daley deceased.
After a preliminary investigation, police say the motorcycle left the roadway on a corner. It then struck a tree and Daley was thrown down the embankment.
Police believe speed is a factor in the crash.
