Fire destroys cabin near Wolf Creek

Wolf Creek, Ore. — Fire crews in Wolf Creek responded Tuesday night to a structure fire that destroyed a cabin and spread to nearby trees and wildland.

At around 9:00 p.m., fire crews arrived to a fully involved structure fire on Lower Wolf Creek Road.

The Wolf Creek Fire Department said two residents were at a neighbor’s house when they heard the smoke alarm sounding.

They attempted to put out the flames with fire extinguishers but were unable to knock it down.

Firefighters said both residents were able to get out without injuries, though one was treated for smoke inhalation.

The fire spread to the wildland and into several tree tops.

The cause was determined to be an electrical short on the wall.
