Fire destroys RV in Murphy

RV FIREMurphy, Ore. — A home was threatened and an RV destroyed in Murphy Friday night.

The fire was reported just before 8:00 p.m. Rural-Metro Fire, the Oregon Department of Forestry, Grants Pass Fire, and Applegate Fire all rushed to the 300 block of Debra Lane.

Firefighters said the two elderly people living in the trailer made it out, but when crews first arrived, one person wasn’t responding. That person ultimately did regain consciousness, but was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Unfortunately a dog got caught inside the RV and died in the fire.

The cause of that fire is still under investigation.
