Medford, Ore. – One man is in the hospital tonight following a fire at the Cascade Inn Motel in Medford. Above is a video of the scene.
Just before 11 pm tonight Firefighters were called to investigate a fire spotted at one of the units along N. Riverside Ave. across the street from Kids Unlimited Charter School. Medford-Fire Rescue tells us a man seen outside with a blanket needed to be treated for smoke inhalation. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The owner of Cascade Inn Motel tells NBC5 News he was told that man is expected to be “ok.” He also has insurance to cover repairs.
Tenants in the neighboring unit were forced outside during the fire, but say the man living there got it out by himself. Medford Police also responded. The fire was contained to the single room. A cause is under investigation.
