Fire threatens trailer park

Shady Cove, Ore. — A dangerous fire broke out near a trailer park in today.

Crews responded to the call at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon for a fire that the Oregon Department of Forestry estimated at 1.67 acres.

No one was hurt and there was no property damage. But the fire burned dry grass and vegetation, and came within at least 100 feet from the closest trailer.

Crews were able to put the fire out within 15 to 20 minutes.

“Firefighters got on scene, knocked it down and made a barrier above the homes. They were able to save a lot of homes and lives and properties today,” Melissa Cano said, ODF.

Crews are still investigating the cause of the fire. So far, there are no leads.

ODF said that with the high temperatures coming up within the next few days, it’s important to be careful and follow the restrictions to prevent wildfires.
