Firefighters practice with simulation house

11-17-scenario-firesWhite City, Ore. — Fire District 3 held training scenarios on Thursday for three engines. Engines from Central Point, Eagle Point, and White City came out to Fire District 3 to go through simulation runs.

Using a simulation house, the battalion chief calls into the practice dispatch line, the three engines participating will respond, assess the situation and act accordingly.

No one knows the details of each simulation other than the battalion chief. Possible simulations
include defensive attack, and victims inside the home.

“Being able to work on our regional simulation house and have the ability to create different scenarios, create different configurations of the house, is really impactful to get a different variety of what they could be going into,” Ashley Lara said, Fire District 3.

The simulation house was added to Fire District 3 in April. It’s approximately 4,400 square feet. The interior can be configured into any floor plan to simulate different environments, and can even produce live smoke and heat.
