Firefighters rescue puppy from Grants Pass well

0907 GP puppyGrants Pass, Ore. – Grants Pass Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a puppy that had fallen 20 to 25 feet down a well in the 1800 block of northeast D St.

Firefighters said the occupants of the home were trying to reach the puppy with some webbing, but were unsuccessful.

According to the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, firefighters used a pole with a wire loop to bring the puppy to the surface. He was unharmed and happy to see his family.

Firefighters said it’s a good reminder that wells need to be capped to prevent animals from falling into them.
