Flights cancelled from smoke

MEDFORD, Ore. — Poor visibility led to the cancellation of numerous flights at Medford’s airport today.

Airport officials say visibility is so poor, large planes would have difficulty navigating.

United and American Airlines have completely canceled flights for the day.
Delta is posting delays for their Seattle and Salt Lake flights, while Horizon and Alaska are operating as normal.

Marilee Cross is one of many passengers dealing with a cancelled flight.

“Everything has to be cancelled…not just the flight but my hotels, my scheduled moving people, so a lot has been changed,” she said. “So, I’m not sure what I’m going to do…”

Many flights are being re-scheduled for tomorrow.

Airport officials are encouraging everyone flying tomorrow to show up 2 hours before their flight, as the airport will likely be crowded.
